06/06/11 Grif.Net – Thoughts on Fathers, 1

[Rather than just a single day to honor dads, I thought I would share some
father-fodder each day for a fortnight leading up to Father’s Day. Tried to
list sources: feel free to use any you like.]

“When I as a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant, I could hardly
stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was
astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”
~Mark Twain

“Today 100 years has elapsed since the first Father’s Day was celebrated.
Fathers of the early 1900’s didn’t have it nearly as good as fathers of
today; but they did have a few advantages. In 1900, fathers prayed their
children would learn to speak English. Today, fathers pray their children
will text them in English. (from my son = T+ DAD AFAIK TODAY HTH. CYAL8R
