A pastor and a democratic senator passed away at about the same time and met
at the Pearly Gates. Being a humble servant, the minister deferred and
allowed the politician to enter first.
The senator was warmly embraced by St Peter and ushered to a limo and taken
to the finest mansion.
The pastor then stepped up and St Peter shook his hand and said, “Please
wait in line for the shuttle bus to the Motel 6.”
“Wait a minute”, the pastor meekly responded. “I’ve been faithfully serving
God for 50 years and all I get is an economy room?”
St Peter smiled and reminded him, “Well, we get ministers up here all the
time, but this is the first democrat we’ve had in years.”
