The Football Coach was upset with Ben. His math scores were so low he would
be ineligible to play in the opening game. The whole team was saddened by
the thought of losing such a valuable player.
The Coach thought of a great idea and said, “Ben, I will ask you a very
difficult math question. If you get it right, you will be able to play”.
Ben agreed and Coach asked him, “What is 2 + 2 ?”
Ben thought and thought and finally risked a guess. “Is it 4?”
The Coach said, “Well . . . ”
But all Ben’s teammates were crestfallen and immediately chimed in: “Give
him another try!”
