03/15/11 Grif.Net – Wind in Wyoming

I was standing by the door of the Court House here in Casper talking with a
friend. We noticed the wind blowing leaves and trash, swirling all around.
The custodian was out on the steps, trying to corral the mess and sweep up
debris, She was a very small woman (I’d guess 4’10″& 90 lbs) and having a
rough time trying not to be blown away herself.

My friend thought he would suggest to her a method of standing upright
against the Wyoming wind. “You’re wearing a warm jacket, aren’t you? Just
put rocks in all the pockets!”

As a minister, I added my idea that she also say a little prayer to ask the
Lord to help her cope with the wind. She smiled and said she knew just the
prayer and would repeat it as she filled her coat with rocks.

I heard her softly praying as she walked back into the wind. “Now I weigh me
down to sweep . . .”
