12/14/23 Grif.Net – Pangrams

In 12th grade I needed a couple extra classes to graduate. I had a strong colleg=
e-prep resume but did not need/want calculus/trigonometry since I was enrol=
led to be a minister and taking extra speech and music accordingly. The gui=
dance counselor wondered why I had never taken typing.

Soundi=
ng as sexist today as I was in the 60’s, I said typing was for girls =
going to be secretaries and not interested. She reminded me how MUCH I woul=
d need typing in college, seminary, and sermon preparations.  She was =
right, of course. So, I ended up in a room with 27 girls (mostly freshmen) =
and me, a senior and captain of the debate team, the lone guy. Not all bad,=
eh?

I learned why a “pangram” was so special. How=
often does every letter in the alphabet appear in a sentence? “The q=
uick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog” has been used for years to teac=
h handwriting and typing. But modern “Pangrams” not only show t=
yping skills, but also have cleverness and clarity to make them shine.=

Try some of these pangrams for fun (or keyboard dexterity)

>> The five boxing wizards jump quickly.

>> =
When zombies arrive, quickly fax Judge Pat.

>> Amazing=
ly few discotheques provide jukeboxes.

&nbsp=
;

=
>> Puzzled women bequeath jerks very exotic gifts.

>&=
gt; The quick onyx goblin jumps over the lazy dwarf.

>> =
Five or six big jet planes zoomed quickly by the tower.

>&g=
t; Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs.

>> Jack am=
azed a few girls by dropping the antique onyx vase.
