On Armistice =
Day, we remember.
Remembrance honors those, the veterans who =
served to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life. =
Remembrance =
unites across faiths, cultures and backgrounds to remember the service =
and sacrifice of the Armed Forces against tyranny and =
hate.
Remembrance =
also acknowledges innocent civilians who have lost their lives in =
conflict and acts of terrorism.
Remembrance =
does not glorify war and its symbol, the red poppy, is a sign of both =
Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.
Remembrance is =
a deeply personal and yet all-encompassing emotion.
The =
Exhortation:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left =
grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the =
going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember =
them.”
The =
Epitaph:
“When =
you go home, tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our =
today.”
Remembrance =
honors the memory of those today, and pledges care for the living. =
We will =
remember them.
