09/20/22 Grif.Net – Facts for the Test

The =
10th grade biology class was out on a ranch for a field trip. =
One boy asked the teacher, "Sir, we were chasing a snake and wonder =
if it is poisonous?"

The teacher =
said, "What have we learned in class about snakes? NO snake in =
Wyoming is ‘poisonous’, but remember . . . " =

Like many =
teens, the boy was done listening and ran off to catch that snake. Of =
course, it immediately bit him, and the boy started to spasm and foam at =
the mouth as his classmates looked on in horror.

The teacher =
looked down and concluded his answer, "But that snake IS =
‘venomous’. Remember, ‘poison’ is ingested or =
absorbed, while ‘venom’ is injected. Let’s get the facts =
right next time to pass the test!"
