We all LOVE math. Some are funny, some clever, some very real and some just
plain silly.
1. A farmer had 17 sheep. All but nine died. How many did he have left?
2. What digit is the MOST frequent between the numbers 1 and 1,000?
3. What digit is the LEAST frequent?
4. Imagine you are driving a bus. You start off empty but soon pick up 11
passengers. At the next stop you drop of 6 and pick up 3. Third stop 2 get
off and four get on. Then 8 leave and only 1 heads toward the last stop.
At the last stop, 3 get off.
How old does this make the driver?
5. How can you add eight 8’s to get the number 1,000? (only use addition; it
can be done!)
6. What is 108 minus 12X9, plus 18 minus 9X2, plus 49 minus 7X7, plus 144
minus 12X12, plus 121 minus 11X11, plus 64 minus 16X4?
7. A farmer is trying to cross a river. He is taking with him a rabbit,
carrots and a fox, and he has a small raft. He can only bring 1 item a time
across the river because his raft can only fit either the rabbit, the
carrots or the fox. How does he cross the river without having the fox eat
the rabbit or rabbit eat the carrots (which they will do if the two are left
together with him present)?
8. As I was going to the fair, I met a man with golden hair. He had 3 sons
each with another son of his own, plus wife and daughter. How many people
were going to the fair?
