ourses in college I quizzed: “When I say, ‘I am the best lookin=
g professor’, am I using past, present, or future tense?”

Class responds=
in unison: “Past tense.”

Then I added: &=
#8220;And if I say, ‘I am also the most humble professor you know&#82=
17;, what figure of speech am I using?”

On this=
the class is almost evenly divided. Half say “exageration” and=
the rest say “hyperbole”.
