[We’ve been repeating the Grif Net email/blog posts fo=
r this past WEEK from 25 years ago (May 2000). This is our final look back =
for that experiment.]
"I Am a Christian"
When I say…"I a=
m a Christian", I’m not shouting "I am saved".
I’m whispering, "I was lost".&n=
bsp; That is why I chose this way.
=
When I say …"I am a Christian&qu=
ot;, I don’t speak of this with pride.
&n=
bsp; I’m confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my Guide.
When I =
say…"I am a Christian", I’m not trying to be strong.=
I’m professing that I’m weak and pray for st=
rength to carry on.
When I say…"I am a Christian", I’m not brag=
ging of success.
I’m admitting I=
have failed and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say…"I am a Christ=
ian", I’m not claiming to be perfect.
I’m sharing that my flaws are too visible, but God believes =
I’m worth it.
When I say…"I am a Christian", I still feel the s=
ting of pain.
I’m confessing=
that despite my real heartaches, I trust His name alone.=
When I say…&quo=
t;I am a Christian", I do not wish to judge.
I’m claiming I have no authority. I only know I’m lov=
ed.
