a word that are not now (were they ever?) pronounced. Today’s quiz de=
veloped from a quiz some time back to give you an assortment of letters of =
the alphabet and you must provide words in which that letter plays NO disce=
rnable role in pronunciation.

 

I will use th=
e letter “A” as an example. What words have a “silent&#82=
21; A that is not pronounced?

  It may be silent IN the word, like “bread” or &#822=
0;tread.”

  It=
may be silent at the BEGINNING or ENDING of a word, like “aisle&#822=
1; or “aesthetic.”
