As a pastor I enjoy reading of OTHER preacher’s faux pas from the pulpit or
in a bulletin, etc. But really chuckled over this one.
The pastor was talking about the baptism of Jesus from the Gospel of Mark
(1:9). He didn’t quite have the words in the correct order.
“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of
Galilee, and was baptized by Jordan in the John.”
He didn’t realize what he’d said, but his congregation now had a mental
“word picture” that was stuck for a long time to come!
