I’m sure =
that you’ve heard of Murphy’s Law:
>“If =
anything can go wrong, it will.”
And then there =
are a few other laws that have been added to the list over the =
years:
> “If =
there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will =
cause the most damage will be the one to go =
wrong.”
> “If =
there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen =
then.”
> “If =
you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can =
go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will =
promptly develop.”
> “If =
everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked =
something.”
Of course, we =
laugh at these statements. But, too often, we also live by them. Waiting =
for things to go wrong. Waiting for the worst to happen. Skeptical and =
cynical about life.
But Mrs. =
Murphy found an alternative. Instead of waiting for things to go wrong, =
she would look at life a different way. She gave us the role model to =
think instead that:
> “If =
something can go right, it will.”
> “If =
there’s a possibility that several things can go right, the one =
that will give the biggest reward will be the one that happens to =
you.”
> “If =
there’s a great time for something to go right, it will happen =
then.”
> “If =
you’ve explored four opportunities that didn’t work, a =
fifth, even bigger opportunity will present =
itself.”
> “If =
everything’s going badly, hang in there, it will get =
better!”
Because maybe, =
just maybe, life isn’t conspiring against you, but working for =
you. With a shift in perspective, perhaps you’ll become more =
aware of the prolific number of opportunities around =
you.
So, forget =
about that Murphy fellow and listen to his wife =
instead.
