Big party at the Assisted Living residence when I arrived. I asked, “What’s
the cause of all the excitement?”
A CNA replied, “We’re celebrating the birthday of our oldest resident. She’s
a hundred and five today.”
“Wow! No wonder every looks to happy! But who is that fellow about my age
with the long face sitting by the old lady’s side?”
“Oh, that’s the old gal’s son-in-law, sir. He’s been keeping up the payments
on her life-insurance for the last forty years!”
