It was Christmas Eve and a burglar broke into the home of a prominent local
lawyer. He took the lawyer’s Christmas gifts from under the tree, while
leaving the packages for the wife and children untouched.
As he was leaving the house, he was apprehended by an alert policeman. He
confessed to what he had done but told the policeman that he couldn’t be
arrested.
Of course, the policeman asked him why. He responded, “Because the law
states that I’m entitled to the presents of an attorney.”
