Luke came home from his first day of kindergarten and his mother asked,
“What did you learn today?”
“Not enough,” Luke replied sadly. “They said I have to go back tomorrow.”

At recess Chad confided, “I wish I were a magician so I could do well in
school this year.”
His friend Josh looking quizzically at him, so Chad continued, “I hear
they’re good at trick questions.”

~~
The first day of classes Mr Z, the history teacher, was wearing sunglasses
to school. Leslie asked him why he would do that.
He replied, “I was told this year I’d have a class of really bright
students, so I’ve come prepared!”

~~
On Tuesday, the teacher announced “Class, we will have only half a day of
school this morning.”
Everyone was ecstatic until she added, “We will have the other half this
afternoon.”

~~
“My teacher says I have to write more clearly”, Abby complained.
Mom replied, “That’s a good idea, Sweetie.”
“No, it’s not. Then she’ll know I can’t spell.”

~~
In the first week of English class, Miss Carson asked, “Can anyone give me a
sentence with a direct object?”
Jadin quickly answered, “You are very pretty.”
His teacher inquired, “What’s the direct object?”
His obvious answer: “A good report card?”
