A grandmother was telling her granddaughter what her own childhood was like:

*I used to skate outside on a pond.
*I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard.
*I loved to ride our pony.
*I picked wild raspberries with my mom in the woods.
*On cold nights I’d snuggle under 3 quilts and read for hours.
*We had fun chasing chickens around the yard and collecting the eggs.
*I liked watching steam engines chug-chug-chug up the hill by the farm.
*And I was so happy to catch lightning bugs in a mason jar on a summer
night.

The little girl was wide-eyed, taking this all in. At last she said, “I
sure wish I’d gotten to know you sooner!”
