Jon Stewart – “It was time for the most anticipated event on Senator Obama’s
itinerary: his speech in Berlin. And so, at 7pm local time, a crowd of over
200,000 gathered to listen to Barack Obama. There was dancing, there was the
climbing of lampposts to gaze upon the junior senator from Illinois. When
was the last time you saw that overseas? You know, I’ve got to tell you.
There’s something about a charismatic leader rallying huge crowds of Germans
in a large public square.”

David Letterman – “President-elect Barack Obama and his wife went on their
first date since the election. They actually went on a date; they went out
and had dinner. And it is weird, though, when you think about it, don’t you,
to have a Democrat in the White House who actually dates his own wife?”

Seth Meyers – “On Tuesday Barack Obama warned that the country could face
trillion dollar deficit in the years to come in an address many said was
reminiscent of Martin Luther King’s famous “I had a Bad Dream” speech.”

Amy Poehler – “Barack Obama this week named Nobel Prize-winning physicist
Steve Chu as his energy secretary, unless he was just sneezing.”

Bill Maher – “Americans have finally got beyond our racial past, and picked
a black man to clean up our mess.”

David Letterman – “But surgeon general, that’s a tough position, and it was
hard for Obama to make the choice. It was between Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Phil and
a guy on ‘Scrubs.’ But Gupta says if he becomes the surgeon general the
first thing he wants to do is warn people about one thing – the Regis
Philbin show in high def. He said it could cause nausea and headaches.”

Craig Ferguson – “Barack Obama gave a speech in Germany and 200,000 people
showed up. There were so many Germans shouting and screaming that France
surrendered just in case.”

And my favorite . . .
Jon Stewart – “After a quick meet-and-greet with King Abdullah, Obama was
off to Israel, where he made a quick stop at the manger in Bethlehem where
he was born.”
