Trying to be =
socially-distant, the middle-school band class set up outside this =
fall. Practice was just getting under way when a large insect =
starting flying around the group. Many were sixth-graders, eager to play =
their shiny new instruments, and tried to ignore the buzzing intruder as =
they tuned up.
Eventually one =
student could stand it no longer. He rolled up his music book and, as =
the bug dive-bombed his area, he swatted the insect. Then he stomped it =
into the grass to ensure its demise.
"Was that a bee?" =
another student asked.
"Nope," he replied. "Bee =
flat."
