pastored in Wisconsin and Minnesota I had to be really careful about =
jokes that might be deemed offensive to certain =
nationalities. Couldn’t risk telling a joke about a =
German, Pole, Scandinavian, French etc
At a =
men’s breakfast when everyone was visiting, joking and having a =
good time, I wanted to tell a joke and not offend. So I asked the =
men if I could replace the given “nationality” issue and =
just use the word “ethnic”. All thought that a good =
non-offensive solution.
So I started, “I don’t want =
to offend, so I won’t mention any nationality. I’ll just =
tell you the story of two “ethnics” walking down the =
street.
They were named Sven and Ole . . . “
