[Salute to Veterans everywhere]
As Sergeant =
with the 3rd US Volunteer Infantry, Company I, I had 20 men =
in my unit. One day I told them: "I have a nice easy job for the =
laziest man here. Put up your hand if you are the laziest." =
19 men immediately raised their hands. I was =
hard-pressed to pick one, but just had to ask the lone fellow why he =
didn’t raise his hand like the others.
When he =
replied with, "Too much trouble raising the hand, Sarge", I =
knew I’d found my volunteer.
