God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

I was feeling pretty creaky after hearing the TV reporter say, “To contact
me, go to my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, or try to reach me the
old-fashioned way: e-mail.”

An elderly shopper at our supermarket used a check to buy such items as
cotton balls, powder, cotton swabs, and cold cream. To remind her of the
purpose of the check she wrote on the memo line, “Repairs”.
