12/07/12 Grif.Net – Reader Input on Aging

[B.R. in Wisconsin read a recent Grif.Net dealing with aging and shared some
of his favorites. Some may be repeats of previous lists; hey, I already
said I’m old. And this is appropriate as I give a birthday shout out to my
only son-in-law “Mr Z”, who has the most fantastic wife, and the
best-looking mother-in-law on earth.]

Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the
most live the longest.

My ‘wild oats’ have turned to shredded wheat. And ‘forbidden fruit’ all
taste like stewed prunes.

Once you’re over the hill, you start to pick up speed.

It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.

You’re getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that
you once got from a roller coaster.

Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice
cream fall from the cone.

Life is one long process of getting tired.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

We could certainly slow the aging process down if it had to work its way
through Congress.
